Dear Colleagues and Friends,

It is our pleasure to inform You that the 6th International Underwater Film Festival in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, will be held this year in December, from 6th to 9th.

Again, the main organizer of this event is Diving Club "Belgrade", co-organizers are Belgrade Youth Center, the French Cultural Center and Yugoslav Film Archives. Festival is held under patronage of Belgrade City Assembly, with generous support from the Ministry of culture, Ministry of education and sports, Municipality of Stari Grad and several diplomatic missions in Belgrade.

The International Underwater Film Festival in Belgrade is a unique opportunity to peek into the underwater world, to find out more about it through films, photos, meetings with authors and other underwater adventurers and enthusiasts.

Our "6th dive" will be the best yet. We'll have more films, more photos, more projections, more guests, more of everything. The Festival program will run in three cinemas, three galleries, Internet Café and Jazz Club.

For the first time, we'll introduce "The National Underwater Day" and for this year, that day will belong to France. This day will be dedicated to French underwater production and our guests from France and hopefully, we'll be able to show one or two surprise films, accompanied with surprise guest, a very famous sea-lover.

As usual, the Festival program consists of film contest and film revue, underwater photography contest and exhibition, children drawings exhibition, art students' poster contest and exhibition, lectures, presentations and many other events. Also, like every year, income will be donated to the Shelter for children without parental care "Drinka Pavlovic".

All the information about registration and contest can be found at www.kpa.co.yu Films for the contest would have to be 2001 or 2002 production, with 30% underwater shots and formats are BETA SP, DV Cam or MiniDV. Deadline is 20. November. For the revue part, we'll accept older productions.

The International Underwater Film Festival in Belgrade will give the following awards: Grand Prix, Best Film Award (first, second and third place), Best Yugoslav Film Award, Audience Film Award, Best Photography Award and some special awards. We already have some confirmations that all last years' winners will be personally present at the 6th Festival, along with many other guests from all around the world.
