UNDERWATER VIDEO COMPETITION REGULATION
1. The competition is open to amateur and professional video-operators.
2. Competition admission is free.
3. Subject is free and it should consist in underwater images
for at least 60% of its length (sea, inner-water and swimming-pool)
4. Each video footage should last up to 20 minutes (overlapping
videos will receive a penalty in the course of the jury evaluation).
5. Video footage should ensue to the following format: DV and
mini-DV. Each participant may enter more than one submission.
6. Each video footage would include a short comment on subjects
and purposes engaging the participant to carry out the project
(listing the employed equipment for shooting and for editing).
The official language is both Italian and English.
7. The Jury shall be composed of sector experts (directors,
journalists, video-operators).
8. The award ceremony will take place on 9 June 2002, during
the Festival.
Authors of the first, the second and the third classified video
will be awarded with
1ST classified: ¤ 750,00 2ND classified:
¤ 500,00 3RD classified: ¤ 250,00
9. Participants authorise the Festival organisers to use their
works to promote no-profit underwater activities. Videos will
always be performed specifying the author's name but no payment
for using the copyright or retribution of any kind will be assigned.
No commercial use of the movies will be made by Festival organisers.
All individuals wishing to purchase one of the works will be put
in contact with the producers and/or authors.
10. The Festival organisers reserves the right on the copies of
competing videos, according to the commitments specified in pt.9.
11. The competition organisers will carefully handle the works,
nevertheless they will not be considered liable for the loss or
damage to the works during the festival or at the moment of shipping/delivering.
Participants if they think it necessary - should therefore
stipulate a personal insurance preserving against those risks.
12. The admittance to the Festival foresees a first selection
of the entirety submitted videos made by a preselection Jury.
Judges' decision is final.
13. Works presenting an interest in the underwater world, even
though they may not correspond with the rules and regulations
set forth, may be accepted by the preselection jury and compete
for a special award.
14. Jury would unconditionally quote noteworthy authors and videos
among those not awarded.
15. According to copyright rules, organisation considers competing
works are exempted from artistic copyright or any other property
belonged to third-party. The competition submission supposes the
authors' commitment to preserve the organisation from actions
taken by those having the rights. The Festival organisers may
in no way whatsoever be held liable in cases of dispute or litigation.
16. Judges' decision is final. The competition submission
supposes to constitute the unconditional acceptance of the present
regulation.
17. At the end of the award ceremony the Jury - otherwise one
of its members - will be available to explain the adopted evaluation
criteria.
18. It is mandatory to fill up and sign the attached registration
form.
19. Registration form should be submitted by 22 may 2002

20. The competition submission supposes the participants to
authorise the Festival organisers to handle data in order to be

21. In case of quarrel, dispute should take place before Rome
Tribunal.

UNDERWATER PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION REGULATION
1. The competition - open to underwater photographers
has a free subject and it is divided into 2 categories:
Environment: the photo should represent a panoramic view of underwater
habitat, wide-shot and back-lighting shot are allowed: human presence
could be insert in the photo but as a complementary element.
Macrophotography: the photo should represent whole subjects otherwise
subjects or underwater details which underline the best aesthetic
taste through composition choices, graphic research, light effects
and chromatisms.
2. Endorsed size: cm 30x45, cm 30x40.
3. Competition admission is free.
4. Participants may enter 3 submission in each category. The judgement
will be pronounced for each single photo.
5. On the back of the photo it should be written the competitor
name, the submitted category and - in order to clearly identify
the side of exposition - it should also be indicated the lower
side of the image with the word "bottom".
6. By the deadline for the works application, the jury will convene
to evaluate the works, without knowing the author's name and it
will assign a score to each photo. Then a list of the best photo
taken by each applicant will be drawn up, according to the different
categories. Judges' decision is final.
7. The Festival organisers reserves the right to reproduce or
publish the competing works undertaking to specify author's name
and to exercise it without any commercial aim.
8. The awarded works will not be given back. The competing but
not awarded photos will be sent back, in the same inward envelop,
to the address indicated in the application form.
9. The Festival organisers will carefully handle the photos, nevertheless
they will not be considered liable for the loss or damage to the
works during the festival or at the moment of delivering. Participants
if they think it necessary - should therefore stipulate
a personal insurance preserving against those risks.

UNDERWATER CD-Rom COMPETITION REGULATION
1. The competition is open to everyone and the admission is
free.
2. CD-Rom should be provided in PC version.
3. Subject should cope with underwater environment, and the CD-Rom
should be produced for didactical, promotional, scientific or
turistic purpose.
4. The Jury is constituted by sector experts (directors, journalists,
operators).
5. The award ceremony will take place on 9 June 2002, during
the Festival.
Authors of the first, the second and the third classified video
will be awarded
6. Participants authorise the Festival organisers to use their
